I have spent the week listing things from our church basement on www.freecycle.org and it is now international! List your stuff (no trading/ no selling allowed) that you want someone to take away for free and believe me -- they do!!
Not carried a single thing up those steep stairs.
Also international now a great site for buying furniture and other unwanteds: www.craigslist.com
spread it around!!

Freecycle - what a great idea. I have set up an East Berkshire (UK) Freecycle group. Not sure if I'll get any members!
